Retail Media Commercial Review

Independent retail media investment review for brands

Before you approve the spend, understand what you are buying.

Retail media has become one of the fastest-growing areas of advertising investment.

It has also become harder for brands to compare proposals on equal terms.

A Retail Media Commercial Review examines the investment decision behind the retailer or agency recommendation, with particular attention to commercial logic, measurement, attribution and the questions that deserve answering before approval.

Standard review: £1,500.

Broader multi-network review: £2,250.

Relevant experience

My career spans retail media, luxury retail, trade marketing, partnerships, ecommerce and integrated campaign planning, at both sides (in-house brand-side spending with retailers, and on the side of the retailer, selling retail media to brands).

At Selfridges HQ I worked within the commercial realities of brand-funded retail marketing and major luxury partnerships.

That context informs how I assess what a brand is being asked to buy and whether the proposed investment is commercially persuasive.

My work and thought leadership across these sectors has been featured / published across The Independent, WWD, Retail Week, Glossy and WATCHPRO UK & US. You can learn more about me here and you can explore my LinkedIn profile here.

FAQs

Can you review an agency recommendation as well as a retailer proposal?

Yes.

Can you negotiate with the retailer?

The standard review equips your team with the points and questions to use. Direct negotiation is a separate engagement.

Do you review Amazon campaigns?

This is a commercial investment review rather than hands-on Amazon PPC optimisation.

Can you compare several retail media networks?

Yes. The £2,250 broader review can cover up to three proposals or networks.

Do you audit attribution?

I assess the measurement methodology, assumptions and questions the brand should ask. This is not an independent econometric or technical attribution audit.

Before the budget is approved, give the proposal one independent commercial read.

"I had the pleasure of working with Hannah during our time at Boucheron and Selfridges, and I truly valued our collaboration. She is highly professional, reliable, and consistently delivers excellent work. Beyond her skills, Hannah is also a very pleasant person to work with, approachable, positive, and a great team player. I would gladly work with her again and highly recommend her. Thank you for this great partnership Hannah!"
